BST HYDE PARK SATURDAY SHOW

London, UK • June 27 2026

Review by James Vince

This review focuses on the artists performing on the iconic Great Oak Stage. Unfortunately, with such an incredible line-up spread across multiple stages, we simply couldn't be everywhere at once!

Saturday 27th June arrived with soaring temperatures, clear skies over London, and one of the most anticipated days in UK country music history — BST Hyde Park's legendary "Garth Brooks Day."

For country music fans, this wasn't just another festival. This was Christmas morning, your birthday, and winning the lottery all rolled into one. A dream line-up packed with some of the biggest names in country music, all sharing one stage.

Kicking things off on the colossal Great Oak Stage, complete with its spectacular centrepiece oak tree, were UK country favourites The Shires. Having had the pleasure of meeting Ben twice before, it was fantastic to finally experience the duo live. Despite some frustrating technical issues (which mirrored Ben's worst nightmares), The Shires delivered a brilliant set packed with fan favourites and showcased exactly why they're one of the UK's biggest country acts.

Next up was social media sensation and coffee-loving country star Alexandra Kay. Bringing plenty of energy to the scorching afternoon, Alexandra delivered a powerful set filled with songs about heartbreak, divorce, toxic relationships, and finding the strength to move on. Special mention has to go to her guitarist and partner, Rocco, who looked like he was having the absolute time of his life on stage.

Then came one of country music's finest storytellers, Ashley McBryde. Joined by what she affectionately calls "the people I make music with," Ashley and her band somehow managed to raise the temperature even higher. The connection between Ashley and the Hyde Park crowd was genuinely special, with singalongs, laughter, and unforgettable moments throughout. And yes, "Brenda Put Your Bra On" was every bit as entertaining live as you'd hope.

The mighty Zac Brown Band were next to take command of the Great Oak Stage, and they absolutely delivered. It's been a while since I'd last seen them live, and I'd almost forgotten just how incredible this nine-piece powerhouse really is. I've always had a soft spot for Zac Brown Band, and this set reminded me exactly why.

Their blistering cover of "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" was nothing short of phenomenal, while their new song "I Ain't Worried About It" introduced what might now be one of my favourite lyrics ever: "People keep trying to tell me how to live and I'm just over here, runnin' out of fucks to give." The stunning "Free / Into The Mystic" mash-up created one of the most magical moments of the entire day. And for once, it was actually possible to see what Zac Brown looks like rather than watching him as a tiny dot in the distance at an arena show!

Then came the moment 70,000 people had been waiting for.

The man. The myth. The legend. The GOAT.
After a 30-year absence from UK stages, Garth Brooks finally walked out in front of a packed Hyde Park crowd.

From the second he stepped on stage, it felt like history was being made.

What followed was a masterclass in live entertainment. Hit after hit, singalong after singalong, iconic moment after iconic moment. Garth brought an unbelievable level of energy, charisma, and showmanship, while his band sounded absolutely phenomenal throughout.

We sang every word to classics like "Two Piña Coladas," "Calling Baton Rouge," and "Ain't Going Down ('Til the Sun Comes Up)." We were taken to church during a roof-raising rendition of "Shout." We got goosebumps during the emotional performance of "The Dance." And together with 70,000 fellow fans, we belted out every word of "Friends In Low Places" in what felt like one of the biggest singalongs Hyde Park has ever witnessed.

The show had everything you could possibly want from a headline set — nostalgia, emotion, humour, energy, and unforgettable memories. Quite simply, it was worth every second of the 30-year wait.

Several times throughout the night, Garth became visibly emotional. He apologised for staying away from UK fans for so long and promised he wouldn't leave it another 30 years before returning.

And you know what, Garth?

You're forgiven.

BST Hyde Park 2026, take a bow.

That wasn't just a concert.

That was an iconic moment in UK country music history.

TUCKER WETMORE "BRUNETTE" TOUR SHOW

Birmingham, UK • April 26 2026

Review by Reegan Hamilton

Tucker Wetmore supported by Carter Faith at the O2 Academy Birmingham

There’s something special about a Sunday night show that feels like anything but—and that’s exactly what Tucker Wetmore delivered at the O2 Academy Birmingham. With support from Carter Faith, the night quickly turned into a full-blown country celebration that had the crowd on their feet from start to finish.

Carter Faith set the tone perfectly as the opener, her vocals echoing effortlessly around the room and immediately capturing the audience’s attention. Her natural humour and easy interaction with the crowd made the set feel warm and personal, while her cover of Slow Burn—a fitting choice given Kacey Musgraves’ recent time in the UK—went down a storm. It was a moment that truly showcased her range, leaving many in the crowd visibly stunned by the sheer power of her voice.

Then it was time for the main event. From the second Tucker Wetmore hit the stage, the energy shifted up a gear. Treating Birmingham like it was a Friday night, he had the entire venue rocking, blending confident stage presence with impressive crowd work. There was a clear chemistry between him and his band too—every beat, pause, and build felt perfectly in sync, turning the O2 Academy into a sea of movement.

The setlist was packed with fan favourites, including Wind Up Missing You, 3,2,1, and Sunburn, all of which kept the energy high. But it was Brunette—the centrepiece of the tour—that had the crowd dancing non-stop, a real highlight of the night.

Midway through, Wetmore stripped things back for a more intimate moment, stepping forward with just a couple of guitars and opening up to the crowd. Sharing that he’d recently finished recording his second album, he invited requests—something that only deepened the connection in the room. When he launched into Give Her The World and Drinkin’ Boots, the audience didn’t just sing along—they practically took over. Watching him sit back, smiling and soaking it all in, was one of the most genuine moments of the evening.

Throughout the entire show, it was clear Wetmore was exactly where he was meant to be. There was a point near the end where he simply crouched down, taking a second to watch the crowd and absorb it all—a quiet, powerful reminder that this wasn’t just another gig, but a dream being lived out in real time.

For one night in Birmingham, Tucker Wetmore brought a slice of Nashville across the Atlantic—and judging by the reaction, the UK will be more than ready when he returns.

COOPER alan "TO THE PUB" TOUR SHOW

Birmingham, UK • April 24 2026

Review by Reegan Hamilton

TO THE PUB!!

Cooper Alan supported by Ian Harrison at the O2 institute Birmingham

The O2 Institute Birmingham turned into a full-blown country party as Cooper Alan rolled into town with his “To The Pub Tour,” bringing along Ian Harrison for support. And honestly, if there was ever a tour name perfectly tailored for a UK crowd, it’s that one—half the audience looked like they’d happily follow him straight to the nearest bar after the encore.

Kicking things off, Ian Harrison did exactly what a support act should do—win over a crowd that’s still clutching their drinks and figuring out where they’re standing. His set was smooth, easy-going, and quietly confident, gradually pulling people in until the room properly woke up. By the end of his set, he’d turned polite nods into proper cheers, which is no small feat when people are still debating their next pint.

Then came Cooper Alan—and any remaining sense of calm left the building. From the second he stepped on stage, it was less “concert” and more “Friday night out that got slightly out of hand.” His mix of country, pop, and feel-good chaos had the entire room bouncing, singing, and probably forgetting they had work the next morning. Songs like “Work”, “Drunk Drink” and “Pleas The Fifth” lived up to their name, it felt like a collective agreement that, yes, this was everyone’s night to party —and no one was leaving early.

What really makes Cooper Alan stand out is how little distance there is between him and the crowd. There’s no rockstar ego here—just a guy who seems like he’d be just as happy down in the audience singing along with everyone else (and possibly starting a chant or two). The banter between songs landed perfectly, keeping things loose, funny, and just the right side of chaotic.

All in all, it was one of those gigs where you come for the music and leave feeling like you’ve accidentally had a night out with a few hundred new mates. Ian Harrison set the tone, Cooper Alan took it and ran with it, and Birmingham got a Friday night reminder that country music pairs surprisingly well with a lively crowd and a couple of drinks.
